Autel SmartBox Kit — Intelligent Energy Management for Charging Infrastructure
Autel Energy Europe introduces the SmartBox Kit — a complete solution for local power management of charging infrastructure. This system addresses three key challenges in today's e-mobility landscape:
Why Do You Need Energy Management?
- No energy management — Artificially limiting charging power results in slow charging and poor user experience
- Cloud-based management — High latency and unstable connections create security risks
- Limited grid capacity — Without management, you cannot deploy a large number of chargers at a single site
What is SmartBox Kit?
The SmartBox Kit consists of three components:
- SmartBox (100×100×27 mm, 165 g) — Controller unit with Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Wi-SUN, and NFC
- SmartSensor (90×65×33 mm, 120 g) — Measuring unit with 1–6 CT channels, range 0–5000 A
- CT clamps or Rogowski coils — For current measurement (100A–5000A)
Two Control Modes
DLB (Dynamic Load Balancing): Maximizes charging power by distributing available capacity. All chargers receive optimal power without the system exceeding safety limits.
ALM (Adaptive Load Management): Manages charging power alongside other building loads. Using SmartSensor, it monitors total load and dynamically adjusts charging — the main breaker never trips.
